Technical Details

The “Signature Series” of trees by Wayne are of a construction uniquely designed and executed through years of experience. Each tree is specially created for the rock it is rooted in. The trunks and major limbs are molded out of copper wire, using splints and retainers, and fused solid with tin. In a special technique mastered by Trinklein, he carefully heats the metal to its eutectic point, and works it with a tool, as if it were clay. Thus he creates realistic flow lines in the bark.

The delicate final finishing of the terminal limbs are often done under his supervision by a specialized art assistant. Sometimes a patina finish is created. Leveling, scuff resistant pads are molded to the rock base. An engraved cast medallion with the artist’s signature is attached to the rock.
